Our school is participating in a Meals in Schools pilot. We know the positive impact that nutritious meals can have to support learning and student wellbeing.
During school terms, free breakfasts and lunches are provided on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to our students from preschool to year 2.
A changing seasonal menu includes healthy options such as sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit and vegetables, grilled chicken and rice salad, yoghurt, oat bars and more. All meals are pre-prepared which means students can come in, collect their food, and eat it at our usual breaks. We will encourage students to explore all the menu options.
If your child has any dietary requirements (e.g. allergies or a diagnosed medical condition) please let the front office know as our contracted food company will supply food appropriate for your child.
Our meals are supplied by hospitality and catering company, Embrace Disability Group, with menus assessed by an independent nutrition company contracted by the ACT Education Directorate.
You can find out more about the Meals in Schools pilot on the Education Directorate website. If you have any concerns or questions about the pilot program, please email our school front office at info@necs.act.edu.au.
