Welcome to Narrabundah Early Childhood School (NECS).
We are a unique, innovative setting catering to the needs of children from pre-birth to Year 2. As one of ACT’s several Early Childhood Schools, we do not have a priority enrolment area and accept enrolments from different suburbs within the ACT.
At NECS, your child will participate in high impact learning, focusing on the Achievement Standards of the Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework. ‘Learning Excellence’ is the school motto and drives all that we do at our wonderful school. Our expert teaching team meet the needs of all children in our 3 year old Government Preschool, 4 year old Government Preschool, Koori Preschool, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 classes. Our small setting allows for the development of strong connections and we pride ourselves on providing intellectually stimulating learning experiences for our students. From play based learning and unhurried play, to engaging in high impact teaching and learning, we are well positioned to provide your child with an outstanding education. We offer unique experiences for all children, including Bush School in terms 2 and 3, located at the Narrabundah Wetlands.
Families that are part of our community have access to a breadth of programs and services unique to our Early Childhood School model: government schooling; community childcare; maternal and child health services; family support agencies and programs. We provide a community of experts dedicated to enhancing the holistic wellbeing of children and their families through nurturing and respectful relationships. We offer a culturally connected experience for families from pregnancy to the end of Year 2. Our partnership with Communities at Work allows students to attend on-site childcare and transition to our preschool and primary school classes seamlessly. We offer high quality learning for every child, integrating support for children and their families. We welcome you to join our small setting.
